6 types of power, and how to use them
I have been working for a bit too long on a book about the 6 types of power:
Political power (making the rules)
Economic power (controlling the resources)
Enforcement power (use of force)
Cultural power (the stories we tell ourselves about who we are)
Moral power (the stories we tell ourselves about who we ought to be)
Network power (who we can reach)
I started talking about this framework publicly back in 2012, in a keynote at Netroots Nation. Things have gotten so much worse since then.
Given current events, I’m making the toolkit portions of the book available now, for free, for anyone who needs or can use them.
